December Week 3: Love All 🎁

LOVE. What a sweet word that stirs up all of the great feelings - especially around the holidays. But here's the question - Is it easy to actually love ALL in the midst of this busy season? ALL the people who treat us unkindly? ALL of those around us who may say unkind things? Do our kids know that Jesus desires us to love those around us despite how they treat us?

Matthew 22:37-39 in God's Word, shows us this, "Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

This week, let's help our kids make a conscious effort to recognize ways that they can LOVE ALL. The message is simple. We love others because Jesus first loved us. We serve others, help others, pray for others because that is what our Heavenly Father does for us. Encourage your kids to be aware of other kids who don't have anyone to play with on the playground, or sit with at lunch. When we teach our kids to see others the way that Jesus sees us - in need of a love and a Savior - something powerful happens and our children have the opportunity to change the world!

Family Time Questions:

1. What is your favorite way to show kindness this week?

2. What are three ways you can be kind to those around you this week?

3. Who is a friend that you can pray for specifically today/this week?
