October Week 3: Let's learn a verse!

Hey NewHope Families and Happy Sunday! We are so glad you chose to join us this weekend! Today your child learned more about how we can have self control and how God is always with us! 

Our Preschool classrooms learned about the story of Joseph (Genesis 37; 39-47). Joseph was far away from home, but God was still with him and had a plan for his life. Your preschoolers learned how they can never go too far away from God! He is always there! 

Today our Elementary schoolers learned how David had a chance to gain revenge on Saul, but showed self control instead (1 Samuel 24). Your child learned they can stop and think before acting out in anger or frustration.

Throughout this month your children have also been studying a memory verse. We encourage you to practice this at home with your family. This may look like writing the verse down and hanging it in your child’s bedroom, or repeating it as a family each night at bedtime. Check out the verse below based on your child’s age group.

Elementary: “God’s power has given us everything we need to lead a godly life.” 2 Peter 1:3a, NIrV

Preschool: “God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9, NLT
