October Week 1: God is always with me!

Hey NewHope Families and welcome back to another amazing day at NewHope Kids! We hope your kids had a blast as we started our brand new teaching series.

Our preschoolers began their series learning how God is always with us! They took a look at the story of Daniel and the lion's den and saw how God was with Daniel even when he was in a cave of lions (Daniel 6:1-23). God was with him and even sent an angel to protect him. We know that God’s presence can be a big concept for little minds to discover. Since we can't see or touch God, it is sometimes hard to believe that God is with us everywhere. This week, as you go from place to place, help remind your children that God is with you in whatever new place you go to. As you walk through the gate at the park, have your child say, “God is with me here”. As you walk through the doors of the grocery store, have your child say, “God is with me here”. As you tuck your preschooler into bed, have them repeat, “God is with me here”.

Our Elementary Schoolers started a brand new series all about self control. They learned that self control is choosing to do what is best even when you don’t want to. Today they studied the story of Jesus when He was tempted in the wilderness (Luke 4: 1-13). Although the devil tried to get Jesus to make the wrong choice, Jesus came prepared. He used the scripture He knew to speak truth over the lies of the devil. Today your child learned that it’s important to be ready to make the right choice. One way we can be prepared to make the right choice in any situation is by reading and studying our Bible. As we do this, we can learn and know what God tells us to do, which is always good and right. When we have the Bible hidden in our hearts, the verses we need will come at just the time we need them! Here at NewHope, we see so much importance in kids having access to God’s word, no matter what age! If your child does not have a Bible, we encourage you to consider getting them one of their own! HERE you can see the Bible your child uses at NewHope Kids. If you do not have access to a Bible, please let us know and we would be happy to assist you!
