September Week 4: Shine Bright

Hey NewHope Families! Welcome back to another Amazing Sunday! We are so glad you chose to join us this weekend! Today your child learned more about how we can shine the light of Jesus to everyone around us! 

Our Preschool classrooms learned about a man named Philip and how he was able to shine the light of Jesus by helping a man in a chariot understand the words of Jesus (Acts 8:26-35)! Today our Elementary schoolers learned how we can comfort others in the same way God comforts us (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). This may look like helping someone laugh when they are feeling sad, or even just being with someone when they are going through a hard time.

Throughout this month your children have also been studying a memory verse. We encourage you to practice this at home with your family. This may look like taking turns repeating it around the dinner table or encouraging your child to say their memory verse to each member of your family (even your pets!). Check out the verse below based on your child’s age group.

Elementary: “Let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16, NIRV

Preschool: “You are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14, NIRV
