September Week 2: Shine Bright!

Welcome back NewHope families for such a busy and exciting Sunday. At all of our services, your children learned about ways we can shine the light of Jesus!

Today your Elementary schooler dove into the story of Jesus feeding the crowd of over 5000 people (John 6:1-3). In this story, Jesus used a young boy’s small lunch to feed thousands of people. Your child learned how God can use small things to make a big impact! This week we encourage you to hunt for small things that, in God’s hands, could help many people. This could be the $3 in your child’s piggy bank, an old toy, or even a smile. Once you find a “small thing” pray and see how your family can use it in a big way. Maybe you can donate those $3 to help feed children across the world, or donate that old toy to a child in need. You can even give a big smile to everyone you see at the grocery store along with an invite to NewHope Church. God can do big things with our little acts of obedience!

Today your Preschooler learned how Jesus healed a man who had been sick for many years (John 5:1-9). Jesus saw this man and helped him because of how much He loved him! Jesus loves everyone and we can too! As you drive along in the car and pass the various places in your town, encourage your child to point out places where we can find people that Jesus loves. Jesus loves the people at church, the people at school, at the park, at the library, and even at the places we don’t like to go to. Let’s show Jesus’ love everywhere we go to everyone we meet!
