September Week 1: Shine Bright!
Thank you for joining us on this holiday weekend. Today your children jumped into a brand-new series learning about shining the light of Jesus!
This month, Your elementary children are focusing on the word compassion, which looks like caring enough to do something about someone else’s needs. Today they learned how Jesus calls all of us to be a light to the world around us (Matthew 5:14-16). Through our words, actions, and attitudes, we can shine the kind, loving, and compassionate light of Jesus to others. However, through rude and selfish actions, we can dim that light. This week, we encourage your family to think of ways to SHINE BRIGHT for Jesus! Make a list of 3-5 different ways you can show compassion and kindness to those around you and get started!
Your preschool children learned how Jesus called himself the light of the world (John 8:12; 9:5). Jesus is the one who brings us hope and guides us to the best things for us! This week, play a fun light switch game with your preschooler. When you turn the light off, say, “Who is the light of the world?” When you turn the light on, invite your child to jump up and shout “Jesus is the light of the world!”
