August W3: God made me Wonderful and Wise!
Hey Families and welcome back to NewHope Kids! We had an awesome time with your kiddos. Here is a glimpse of what we talked about…
Your preschooler learned how God knows everything about them (Psalm 139:1-4)! God sees every detail about them and thinks it is important. God even knows the number of hairs on their head ( Matthew 10:30)! This week, as you brush your child’s hair, remind them that God cares about them so much and knows everything about them, from the bottom of their feet up to the very hairs on their head!
Your elementary schooler learned the importance of picking wise friends. Today we learned the story of Rehoboam and when he asked for advice about being King. First he asked some older wiser men what he should do, then he asked his foolish friends. Rehoboam listened to the advice of his foolish friends instead of his wise mentors and it didn’t turn out well (2 Chronicles 10). Today your child was challenged to think about who they spend time with and to consider if their friends help them to make wise choices. This week, we encourage you to talk to your child about their close friends, asking questions like this…
Which of your friends helps remind you to make the right choice?
Do you have any friends that encourage you to make the wrong choices?
Which of your friends is kind and loving like Jesus?
Encourage your child that they should be kind to everyone, but should surround themselves with people who will help them make wise choices and be more like Jesus!
