May W3: Salvation Sunday

Hey NewHope families,

We are excited to have you back for another amazing Sunday! Today, your child learned all about God’s amazing love for us.

Our preschoolers learned about God’s love that was shown through the Prophet Jeremiah. God sent Jeremiah to tell God’s people how much He loved them and how He had a plan for their life (Jeremiah 31:3, 29:11). Your child learned how this special message was sent from God to them, and they can share God’s love with EVERYONE! We encourage your family to find fun ways to express God’s love to others this week. This may look like writing a card to someone who lives far away, or inviting your neighbor to church.

Your elementary schooler learned how God expressed his love through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. They were told about how Jesus took all of our sin on the cross and gave all of us an invitation to step into a personal relationship with Him. By believing in Jesus, we can have a new life where our sins are forgiven and we are friends with God. This is something Peter discovered and something we can hold fast to as well (Matthew 16:13-20). Set aside some time this week to ask your child what they believe about Jesus. You can do this by asking your child to retell the story of Jesus, or even allowing space for your child to ask questions.
