May Week 2: Let's Pray

Happy Mother’s day NewHope! We hope your family had a great time celebrating at church today. Today your children continued in their series on prayer. 

Our preschoolers learned about a mom who prayed for her son. Her name was Hannah and Hannah prayed to God when she felt sad. Once Hannah talked to God she wasn’t sad anymore, and God helped her with her problem (1 Samuel 1-2). We encouraged the kiddos that they can talk to God when they feel happy, sad, scared, or even angry. This week, as your child feels a range of emotions, encourage them to talk to God about anything, no matter what they are feeling!

Today our elementary schoolers learned the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). This is a prayer that Jesus taught his disciples when they asked him how they should pray. This is a great tool as we learn to pray too. Your child had the chance to make their own prayer booklet that included the Lord’s prayer. We encourage your family to pray this prayer at home, whether that be at the dinner table, before school, or as you wind down for bedtime. Add your words to make it more personal!
