March Week 4: Palm Sunday
Hey Families, We hope you had a blast at church today. As we celebrated palm Sunday your children learned about when Jesus rode into Jerusalem and people honored him by laying down their coats and palm branches and shouted “Hosanna” (Matthew 21:1-16). Your preschool child practiced ways that they can celebrate Jesus! What are some ways you can celebrate Jesus at home? Turn this into a fun game this week and find fun ways that you can celebrate Jesus. You can shout “Jesus is amazing” when you wake up in the morning, tell someone else about something Jesus has done for you, or remember to say, “Thank you Jesus” when God blesses you. Invite your child to be creative in their worship and celebration of Jesus this week.
The Elementary classes took this story one step farther and also learned about why Jesus was headed into Jerusalem. All month long your child has been learning about peace, and today, they heard about the ultimate way that Jesus made peace between us and God. Jesus removed the separation that stood between humanity and God by dying on the cross. We will dive even deeper into this next week as we share the full story of how Jesus died and came back to life to make a clear pathway to God. We encourage you to talk about this with your child this week. See what questions your child has when it comes to Jesus being our savior.
