January W4: Wrapping up our Series

Hey NewHope Families! It was great to see your family in NH Kids today! Today we wrapped up our series on the teachings of Jesus. Our Elementary schoolers learned about using our words wisely. Ephesians 4:29 teaches us that our words can be used to build others up rather than tearing them down. We encourage your family this week to intentionally take time to build others up with your words. This may look like challenging your children to give each other a compliment before school or writing notes as a family to help cheer someone up.

Today our preschoolers learned about God’s love through the story of the prodigal son. They learned about a father who loved his son so much, even when the son had done things that were wrong (Luke 15:11-24). Just as the father loved his son, God loves us and shows us forgiveness even when we do things that are wrong. This week, as you wake your child up and as you tuck them into bed, remind them of God’s amazing love. This may look like reading a scripture about God’s love, saying a prayer to thank God for His forgiveness, or even just celebrating with your child that God loves them!
