December Week 1: The True Story of Christmas

Hey Families, We are so excited to kick off the Christmas season with you. Throughout the month of December your children will be learning about the different characters involved in the Christmas story.

Today they learned about a character that we don’t always talk about around Christmas time…John the Baptist. They heard how the Angel came to tell Zechariah that God had heard his prayer, and his wife, Elizabeth, would become pregnant. Although Zechariah didn’t believe this at first, God kept his promise and against all odds, John was born. God told Zechariah that his son would bring joy to many people and John did that by telling people all about the savior, Jesus! (Luke 1:5-25; 57-80).

Your child learned how they can spread joy this Christmas by telling others about the good news of Jesus. We encourage you to think about how you can do this as a family! This may look like sharing a scripture in the Christmas cards you send out this year, inviting your neighbor to church, or even signing up for the NH Kids Christmas party in a box, to tell the children in your life all about the true story of Jesus.
