August: Week 4

Hey families, and welcome back to another great day in NH Kids! We had a fantastic day learning about God’s creation and how we can use our imagination to honor God!

Today your preschooler wrapped up their series on creation by learning how God made animals and people. After God made all these things, He rested! (Genesis 1:24-2:3). Your child learned the powerful truth that God created them and all the unique and wonderful things about them. Your child was also reminded of their memory verse that they have been working on throughout the month… “God saw everything he had made. And it was very good.” Genesis 1:31.Take some time this week to go over this memory verse with your child and point out the beautiful and good things that God made, that are unique to them!

Your Elementary schooler moved on to the book of Exodus and learned about God’s tabernacle that the Israelites built in the desert. They learned about all the different people that God used to make this beautiful place where people could come to worship Him ( Exodus 25:8-9; 28:1,3; 31:1-11, 35:21,25,34; 39:42-43). Your child learned that, just as these people used their creativity and skills to honor God, your child can use their imagination to honor God! This brought them back to their memory verse found in Ephesians 2:10, “We are God’s creation. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good works. Long ago God prepared these works for us to do.” This week, repeat this memory verse with your child while you talk to them about ways they can use their gifts, talents, skills, and creativity to bless God. Help them find avenues to do this, such as singing a song to God, drawing a picture for someone who is lonely, or giving their time to serve others.
