June: Week 4
Hey Families and thank you for joining us today in NH Kids. Today your child learned how God rescued Peter from prison (Acts 12). Peter was thrown into prison for telling others about Jesus. But while he was in prison his friends were praying for him. God sent an angel who led Peter out of the prison without any of the guards knowing. Peter continued to tell more and more people about the amazing love of Jesus!
Your child learned how God sees us when we feel stuck. We may feel stuck when we are lonely or afraid or sad, but God is always there to help and we can pray to him at any time. Your elementary age child also learned how God rescued us from the stickiest situation of all…sin. God sent his son Jesus to die on a cross and He let all of our sin stick on Him. When we choose to believe in Jesus, the sin that separated us from God is taken away, and we can have a relationship with God.
This week, we encourage you to strike up a conversation with your child about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus. See where your child is at in their faith journey. No place is wrong, it’s all in the growth process. CLICK HERE to check out a talking guide that may help you navigate this conversation. If you have younger children who are just starting to learn what it means to have a relationship with Jesus CLICK HERE to check a helpful children’s book. Feel free to reach out to the NH Kids team if you have any questions. Connect with us at nhkids@newhopechurch.org.
