May: Week 1
Hey Families, we had another great week in NH Kids! Today, your preschooler started a brand new series on how they can be helpers. They kick off this series by learning about the Good Samaritan, who was willing to help someone who was hurt (Luke 10:25-37). All throughout this month, they will be studying the verse from 2 Chronicles 32:8, “We have the Lord our God to help us.” We encourage you to take time to study this verse as a family throughout the month. Try going around the dinner table and each saying one verse at a time, have your child repeat this verse as you buckle them into their car seat, say it with your child before bed time. There are so many ways to incorporate scripture all throughout your day.
In the same way, your elementary schooler is starting a new series all about the Holy Spirit who is our helper. Today they learned about the Great Commission, which is the call that Jesus gives to all his followers to share the good news of Jesus with others (Acts 1:1-11). Your child learned how the Holy Spirit goes with us and helps us to live out the great things that Jesus asks us to do. They were given a special verse to remind them of this promise. Hebrews 13:6 says, “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.’” We encourage you to find ways to keep this verse on repeat in your house. Write this verse on a few sticky notes and place them on the doorways in your house. Encourage your child, and your family, to repeat this verse every time they walk through a door!
