April: Week 4
Hey there families and thanks for joining us in NH Kids! Today your preschooler learned all about the Great Commission, which is the special job that Jesus gives to each of us, to tell others about Him! (Matthew 28:19-20). Today in class, your child helped to brainstorm people that they can tell about Jesus. They brainstormed types of people (friends, neighbors, coaches, teachers) and also wrote down individual names of people they know that they could tell about Jesus. We encourage you to do a similar exercise as a family, including ways that you can share this great news. This may look like reading a story from the Bible with your cousin, calling Grandma up on the phone to tell her how much Jesus loves her, or inviting your neighbor to church. Even at their young age, your child can share the hope of Jesus with others, so let’s give them open doors to do so!!
In our elementary classes today your child learned about one of the stories that happened after Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus met some of his friends as they were walking along the road and they didn’t even know it was him! (Luke 24:13-35). Through this story, they learned how they can put others first by helping them understand. This is especially true when it comes to telling others about Jesus. This week, how can you help your child understand more about Jesus? This could look like setting aside time to allow your child to simply ask questions about the Bible, read Bible verses together as a family, or find an insightful and age-appropriate devotional for your child.
