A Christmas to Believe In: Week 1

Hey there families! 

Christmas has come to NewHope Church!! Throughout our Christmas series in NH Kids, your child will be learning about the story of Christmas as it unfolds in the Bible with a brand new character introduced each week. This week, your child learned about Mary, Joseph, and the Angel who came to share with them the good news of Jesus’ birth (Luke 1:26-38; Matthew 1:18-24). 

Our preschoolers were introduced to Jesus and learned that Jesus is so special because He is God’s son. We’ve heard of many names and seen many babies- but this one was different. HE is God’s SON! Can you imagine?

The elementary life groups learned that Jesus was also given another name, Immanuel, which means God with us! Immanuel is with us in good times and in bad, in safe times and scary times. They learned how life doesn’t always go the way we planned it, but we can trust that God is with us, just like Mary and Joseph did! God is good. 

This week, take time to pray with your child, but switch up where you pray. Pray at church, pray in the car, pray at the dinner table, or even in the middle of the grocery store. Remind your child that God is with them no matter where they are and they can always talk to God!
