November: Week 2

Happy Sunday Families! This week your preschooler heard the story of Elijah and the Widow in 1 Kings 17. They learned about how God always provides what we need. This week, invite your child to pray before eating a meal. Encourage them to thank God for the food he has provided for your family. As a family keep a running list of things that God provides for your family starting on Monday and then look back it on Saturday! Seeing tangible ways that God provides for us is sure to get your child's mind going!

Today was a special day for your elementary schooler. As they learned the story of David and Goliath from 1 Samuel 17, they also learned about how Jesus took down our giant of sin. Your child learned the truth of how Jesus came and took away our sin by dying on the cross. We could not get rid of our sin on our own, but by believing in Jesus and inviting Him to be the leader of our life, He washes away our sin and gives us a new life and fresh start with Him. We encourage you to continue this conversation with your child. Find a few intentional minutes to sit down with your child and ask Why did Jesus have to die on the Cross? How can you have a relationship with God? How does your life change from believing in Jesus? If your child doesn’t know how to answer all these questions yet, that’s ok. Keep praying, keep reiterating these gospel truths to your child, and find times to have this conversation on a regular basis.
