November: Week 1

Hey NewHope Families, it was so great to spend another Sunday with you! Your Elementary schooler started their series on courage and is learning to be brave enough to do what they should do even when they are afraid. Today their story focused on the courage that Joshua and Caleb had to do what was right even when other people were afraid. You can review this story with your child in Numbers 13-14. Before heading to school, talk to your child about what they do when people around them do something that they know is wrong. Encourage your child to not give into negative peer pressure and be brave like Joshua and Caleb. Pray with your child before getting on the bus or getting out of the car, that God would give them courage! 

Our Preschoolers started learning about the goodness of God and how they can find good gifts from God all around them. This all stems from what God created in the very beginning (Genesis 1). Take a walk with your preschooler and point out good things that God made. This could be a beautiful flower, a cool breeze, or even your neighbor. Help them to think of good things beyond what they see in front of them, like how God keeps us safe and provides for everything we need.
