July: Week 5

Hi NH Kids Families!

Can you believe that we are wrapping up the month of July. We have covered so many great stories from the Bible and this week is no different. Our preschoolers reviewed one of the more popular verses- John 3:16 and talked about that when we believe Jesus is God's Son and make the decision to be His best friend, we can choose to make good choices and choose the right path. Our elementary life groups looked at how powerful words can be when you use them in Godly ways and ungodly ways. James 3:1-6 talks about "taming the tongue" and what can happen when we don't have control over our words and actions. God gives us self control through the gift of His Son, Jesus. When we ask for God to help us have self control, God is always faithful to come through!

This week, as a family talk about what it looks like to have self control, using positive and helpful words vs. painful and words that pierce the heart and mind!
