July: Week 4

Happy Sunday families!

This week we went over a story that we find extra special as part of children's ministry. In Mark 10:13-16, it talks about the time when the disciples were going to turn away the children and Jesus was gentle with His reply as He said, "Let the children come unto me." His answer was kind and gentle with the disciples instead of frustrated and rude. When we ask God for help with our responses, we may find that our voice and tone shift to reflect that of the Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5:22.

Parents/caretakers - how is your tone these days? It can be hard sometimes to be positive consistently with fast paced rhythms and schedules, but Jesus calls us to walk in the Spirit and use gentle tones. Use this story from God's Word as a reminder to watch what you say and how you say it. Remember, actions and vocabulary are caught not taught!

Also, don't forget  to work on the memory verse that the preschoolers and elementary kids are reviewing this month:

Preschool - John 14:6

Elementary Philippians 1:6
