July: Week 3

Let your light shine bright families! This week was ALL about being a light to other so that we can show God's goodness. Matthew 5:14-16 talks about how being a forever friend of Jesus is like being a bright light on a hill. When you stand out and love those around you, your friends, family, neighbors - everyone - sees that there is something different about you. And the great thing is that it doesn't have to be extravagant or expensive or complicated to show God's love and be a light to those around us. All it takes are acts of kindness! As you travel with your family this week or share a meal together, talk about what it looks like to be different and shine a light. Make of list of ways you can be kind in your neighborhood, etc. You'll be surprised at how you make someones' day!

Preschoolers: John 14:6: "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life." (NIV)

Elementary: Philippians 1:6: "God began a good work in you. And I am sure that he will carry it on until it is completed. That will be on the day Christ Jesus returns!"
